Biography

Martine Rothblatt is an American lawyer, author, technologist and entrepreneur. Rothblatt graduated from UCLA with a combined law and MBA degree in 1981, then began work in Washington, D.C., first in the field of communication satellite law, and eventually in life sciences projects like the Human Genome Project. She She is currently the founder and CEO of United Therapeutics. In 2004, Rothblatt launched the Terasem Movement, a transhumanist school of thought focused on promoting joy, diversity, and the prospect of technological immortality via personal cyberconsciousness and geoethical nanotechnology. The purpose of the CyBeRev (cybernetic beingness revival) project of the Terasem Movement is to prevent death by preserving sufficient information about a person so that recovery remains possible by foreseeable technology.

Theory and Thought

Martine is a proponent of the idea that the more we upload our personal experiences through media into cyberspace through storage within a mindfile (STUB), we can begin to create more and more sophisticated mindclones, or representations of our cybernetic being.

Terasem Movement

Martine is the founder and president of the Terasem Movement Inc., a 501c3 not-for-profit charity endowed for the purpose of educating the public on the practicality and necessity of greatly extending human life, consistent with diversity and unity, via geoethical nanotechnology and personal cyberconsciousness, concentrating in particular on facilitating revivals from biostasis. The Movement focuses on preserving, evoking, reviving and downloading human consciousness.

Projects

Martine is currently involved in several projects around mind cloning and cyberconsciousness.

CyBeRev

The CyBeRev website exists to demonstrate the practicality of reviving, to healthy life, people who have stored their bemes here but who have since that time been declared legally dead based on lack of heartbeat or brainwaves. The CyBeRev staff is dedicated to pursuing and implementing mindware technology that will enable the revival of an individual's consciousness based on their stored bemes. If a person who has stored their bemes here is revived to healthy life they may feel alive in every way and experience the full range of human emotions.

Lifenaut

LifeNaut.com is a web based research project that allows anyone to create a free back-up of their mind and genetic code.

A MindFile is a database of personal reflections captured in video, image, audio and documents about yourself, that can be saved, searched, downloaded and shared with friends. Each account comes with an interactive Avatar that becomes more intelligent as you add more information to your Mindfile.

The Bio File allows you to collect and store a copy of your DNA for free. Participate in one of the most important research projects of our time. The ultimate goal of our research project is to explore the transfer of human consciousness to computers/robots and beyond.

Personality MD

With this application you can create a detailed profile of your personality, analyze it and find other like-minded people. PersonalityMD goes far beyond a standard personality quiz and provides you with unique analyses of your personality, traits, emotions and even your optimism or pessimism.

A simple to use app, PersonalityMD provides a distinctive two-dimensional response scale, allowing for great self-expression and resulting in an evaluation truly unique to you. You can see how your personality traits compare to those of others and find people in your area who are on the same wavelength (or find out where in the world people on your wavelength are!)
