Definition

Lifelong Kindergarten is the name of a research group inside MIT's Media Laboratory charged with the goal of creating an environment of innovation well into the adult years.

The idea of a lifelong kindergarten is something that relates to the ability for people to innovate well past childhood. Childhood is a time in life in which all possibilities and conceptualizations of reality are varied and open. Preserving the ability over time is an important step towards dealing with a world in constant flux and adapting quickly to cultural, physical and technological change.
