Definition

Future Shock is a term coined by futurist and sociologist Alvin Toffler to describe the psychological and physiological effects that occur when the base of a culture moves faster than the ideological superstructure it causes cultural anxiety. A cultural disconnect. More narrowly it is understood that new technology is outpacing the understanding of it that can occur. It melts into us and pushes it forward. It comes in waves, cell phones into all of our pockets.
